Recently, FPT Automotive has just participated in the Autonomy Mobility World Expo (AMWE) in Paris, France, introducing the latest technology solutions for software-defined vehicles, which leave a significant impact on the world automotive industry.
“The three trends that are attracting huge investments by automakers in recent years are autonomous vehicles, connected vehicles, electric vehicles or hybrids.” This is the sharing of Mr. Ta Tran Minh, COO of FPT Automotive – a company specializing in software in the automotive industry, at the Autonomy Mobility World Expo (AMWE) – the exhibition attracted about 7,000 people and 250 organizations and businesses attended.
Facing the development trend of software-defined vehicles (SDV), Mr. Minh affirmed that the application of software in the automotive industry not only helps manufacturers reduce costs, and product costs, but also helps shorten product launch time.
“With SDV, manufacturing enterprises can build a unified platform from which to master the development and upgrade of both software and hardware at low cost but still ensure quality, and provide the opportunity to experience new, modern and more convenient technology for users. This is an opportunity for software developers like FPT Automotive, as well as engineers and technology experts”, Mr. Minh emphasized.

Besides, to ensure software components work seamlessly with each other, validating these systems is an essential task that is challenging and cannot be done in isolation. Because software development is inseparable from hardware, FPT Automotive’s solution is to use digital twins with vECUs (virtual electronic controllers), allowing developers to simulate and test software in a virtual environment before integrating it into physical components. More specifically, vECUs will help accelerate the validation of software updates via Over The Air (OTA) connections while enabling early software deployment, even before a physical ECU is available, facilitating the product development cycle. “vECU will revolutionize the automotive industry by providing a more flexible, economical and efficient approach to SDV development, resulting in safe and advanced mobility.” – Mr.Minh emphasized.
At the exhibition area, FPT Automotive had the opportunity to meet many experts on automotive technology solutions developed by the company and exchange opportunities for development and cooperation in the future.
In 2023, FPT Automotive was established with headquarters located in Texas, USA with the goal of conquering the automotive software market of hundreds of billions of dollars. FPT Automotive currently has more than 4,000 engineers and experts in the field of automotive software and more than 150 customers who are famous brands in the world such as Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Nisan, Suzuki, Hyundai, Volvo, VinFast, Ford, Yazaki, LG, Panasonic, NXP … The company aims to become a provider of software services and products for the world-class automotive industry with $1 billion in revenue by 2030.
